GOALs and a Challenge

Challenging yourself is the most difficult task at times.  Not just challenging yourself, staying inspired to stick to a plan.  In the end one must find something within themselves to make a fitness plan and stick to it.  This plan can't be a temporary thing if you want to reach a goal and stay at that level.  Instead it is a plan that changes over time, but ultimately some of the diet and exercise changes that you have made must become a part of your life.  They become what is normal.

These "paleo" challenges and other similar challenges that Crossfit Boxes create are a temporary fix.

It is my hope that before "ANY" Crossfit Box starts some sort of Box-wide Challenge they will require that members read something similar to this:

SO, who will be the  REAL winner of this Crossfit Box Challenge?  It could be YOU and You and me…BUT only if YOU will incorporate what you will learn during this challenge about diet, exercise and accountability to YOUR EVERY DAY Existence… The WINNERs will be those who lived a new eating philosophy and found that they felt better and stronger – AND then keep it UP!  Do you have to EAT that way everyday?  Not really… you have to eat that way REGULARLY for it to have the right effect on you!
I am friends with or "like" many different Crossfit boxes.  DURING the middle of the challenge ALL the talk is about how good everyone feels, stronger, faster and just over all healthier..... then the end comes closer.... your menu has begun to get a little monotonous, you miss drinking, you miss cupcakes and donuts.  AND My main observation about most Box-Wide Diet and Fitness Challenges is that NEARING the end of every challenge there is SO much Facebook chatter about what PEOPLE are planning on eating and drinking when the challenge is over.  SO MUCH CHATTER about that and NO comments about how they are going to make it a LIFE CHANGE. PLEASE look deep down inside of yourself, how have you felt during this challenge?
Typically during these challenges you have 6 weeks to get used to the NEW YOU and NEW eating habits.  IF you dropped the white stuff, the foods with a high glycemic index, if you ate lean meats and many smaller meals every day then keep on, KEEP it UP.  BE responsible for YOURSELF, BE ACCOUNTABLE to yourself… AND if you need an accountability buddy give one of your fellow Crossfitters a BUZZ!  Crossfitters at your box are your family they will be there for you, BUT ONLY if you are there for YOURSELF!
IF YOU CAN SURVIVE a 6 WEEK challenge...YOU can make it a life style change!
